The old church was a small and ancient church, and the church priests wanted to rebuild it in order to expand it, and after preparing the bricks, they found it unfit for building with it. And when Archpriest John Al-Shuwaili knew of the matter, he was saddened and went home and prayed, asking the Virgin Mary to intervene in building the church.
Then Virgin Mary appeared to him in a vision and comforted his heart and took him to the place of the church and said to him: “This is my resting place forever.” Then She gave him the new church latout and lead him to go infront of the church and showed him the place to look for bricks for building the church, then she disappeared.
And so the workers were brought and dug in this place, and they brought out the bricks from the ground.. and there father John glorified the Lord and thanked Him for the great blessings that He had done for them.
